The Baxter Building is the long time home and lab of Reed Richards. It is located at 42nd Street and Madison Avenue in New York City. It could also be, in another way, the Fantastic Four's base of operations.

History[]

Fantastic Four[]

Baxter Building 1

Built as an art-deco apartment block, Reed Richards had rented the entire top floor and turned it into a laboratory/home. Victor Von Doom mentioned that Richards had four mortgages on the building and that he couldn't even pay the bills to keep the lights going.

After being exposed to cosmic energy during an experiment on the Von Doom Industries Space Station developing extraordinary powers, the Fantastic Four returned to the Baxter Building to study their mutations and try and cure them. After several weeks, Richards built a device to reproduce the storm. Doom used Grimm's desire to return to normal to trick Grimm into removing his powers while increasing Doom's.

Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer[]

Immediately prior to the Silver Surfer's arrival on Earth, the Baxter Building's roof was the place of Reed and Susan Storm's wedding. To reflect The Fantastic Four's increased prosperity and importance, the depiction of the Baxter Building was updated with the team's logo appearing at the top.

Residents & Employees[]

Trivia[]
